New staff shall undergo name-based background checks in accordance with 922 KAR 2:280 and shall not be left alone with children until fingerprint-based background checks are able to conducted, in accordance with 922 KAR 2:405E Section 11(5). A caregiver hired 11/06/2020, did not have a processed and approved child abuse/neglect check on file and was left alone and supervised a preschool child for less than a minute. The caregiver walked the child down the hall to the restroom. 2.) Each adult, including parents and guardians, at drop-off and pick-up, wore a facemask while inside a child care center, in accordance with 922 KAR 2:405E Section 8(1). Surveyor observed two (2) caregivers facemask hung under the chin area and left the nose and mouth exposed in the preschool room. A caregiver’s facemask hung under her nose and left her nose exposed in the toddler room. A caregiver did not wear a facemask in the infant room. 3.) Staff shall wear gloves when preparing meals and serving bottles. Gloves shall be changed between bottle feedings, in accordance with 922 KAR 2:405E Section 8(5).
