General: Based on observation, the surveyor found the following: 1. A tall brown bulletin board leaned against a wall and placed behind a baby bouncer. A child was not observed to be in the baby bouncer. The bulletin board was observed to be within reach and accessible to the children. 2. A set of Christmas lights with cords placed in a toy bin; therefore, this created a safety hazard for the children. 3. A hair dryer that was plugged into an outlet and placed on top of a basket in the bathroom. The hair dryer was observed to be accessible to the children. 4. A straightener placed on top of a shelf in the bathroom with the cord dangling from the shelf. The straightener was observed to not be plugged into an outlet. The cord was observed to be within reach of the children. General: Based on observation, the surveyor found the following: 1. Multiple craft scissors placed in a stand located on a green and red shelf in the child care room of the provider’s home. 2. A container of Moisture Eliminator with Charcoal placed on top of a green and red shelf in the child care room of the provider’s home. The label on the back of the container stated “Keep Out of the Reach of Children.” 3. The child safety latch was broken on one (1) kitchen drawer that contained the following items: knives, a pair of scissors, and other kitchen utensils. 4. A bag of potting mix located on the provider’s porch beside the exit door to the child care room. The items mentioned were observed to be within reach and accessible to the children. During interview, the provider stated that the children do not use the kitchen; however, they do have to walk through the kitchen to go to the bathroom. The provider stated that she would move the items mentioned and put a new child safety lock on the kitchen drawer.
