General: Based on observation, the surveyor found one (1) bottle, which appeared to contain milk, stored in the back of the refrigerator located in the Nursery Classroom without a protective cap or lid. Upon interview with staff-in-charge, she stated that this is not something her staff would typically allow, as they are usually very particular about ensuring bottles are stored with protective coverings. Staff-in-charge suggested that the lid may have fallen off while the bottle was being placed back into the refrigerator. The surveyor and staff-in-charge returned to the Nursery Classroom to check whether the protective lid or cap had fallen off. Both observed, and no lid or cap could be found. Upon interview with classroom staff, the surveyor was informed that the bottle was already missing it's protective covering when it was given to them by the child's parent earlier that morning. Therefore, the child care center failed to ensure that the bottle was covered while not in use. Food Service In Compliance
