During an incident investigation, it was determined that on July 30, 2024, staff allowed a two-year-old child to run in the classroom, resulting in injury. There were three staff members and 16 children in the classroom. The two- year-old child walked and ran around the tables within the classroom. The three staff members observed the child running in the classroom, but staff were engaged in conversation at the time of the incident and did not verbally or physically redirect the child. Staff allowed the child to run in the classroom to prevent the child from screaming. As the child continued to run in the classroom, the child tripped and fell into a bookcase and struck their face on the bookshelf, sustaining a deep cut above the left eyebrow. The child received professional medical attention.
