591-1-1-.11(1) · Rule 591-1-1-.11(1) requires that disciplinary actions used to correct a child's behavior, guidance techniques and any activities in which the children participate or observe at the Center shall not be detrimental to the physical or mental health of any child.

During an investigation, it was determined that on September 4, 2024, a staff member forcefully grabbed a three- year-old child by the arm, struck the child with the back of an open hand on the mouth and on the shoulder. The staff member also threatened to hit other children in the classroom. The staff member was charged with child cruelty as a result of the incident.
