During an investigation, it was determined that on September 6, 2023, while in the gym, a staff member hit a twelve- year-old child in the right eye as a form of discipline. Investigative findings indicated that a staff member directed the child to transition to another activity and the child refused. A verbal altercation between the staff member and the child ensued, and the staff member struck the child with their hand. The incident resulted in the 12-year-old child sustaining a swollen eye. The staff member was arrested for battery as a result of the incident.
