591-1-1-.26(6) · Rule 591-1-1-.26(6) requires that playground equipment provide an opportunity for the children to engage in a variety of experiences and shall be age-appropriate. For example, toddlers shall not be permitted to swing in swings designed for School-age Children. The outdoor equipment shall be free of lead-based paint, sharp corners and shall be regularly maintained in such a way as to be free of rust and splinters that could pose significant safety hazard to the children. All equipment shall be arranged so as not to obstruct supervision of children.

During a Licensing Study conducted on December 15, 2022 ; It was determined based on observation that the following hazards were observed on the playgrounds. One and two-year old Playground- There were three cracked seats on the red and blue see saw. Three and four year old Playground- There was rust on the red and blue merry-go-round, the blue and red metal car, and the blue tunnel. The blue tunnel was also worn and had chipped paint.

During a Monitoring Visit conducted on May 8, 2023 ; It was determined based on observation that the following hazards were observed on the playgrounds: One and Two-year-old Playground- There were three cracked seats on the red and blue seesaw. Three and Four-year-old Playground- The red and blue merry-go-round had rust. Building 204 Playground- The picnic table with aged wood which had exposed splinters.
