During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, STAFF-TO-CHILDREN RATIO. (a) Minimum standards for the care of children in a licensed child care facility as established by rule of the department must include: 1. For children from birth through 1 year of age, there must be one child care personnel for every four children. 2. For children 1 year of age or older, but under 2 years of age, there must be one child care personnel for every six children. 3. For children 2 years of age or older, but under 3 years of age, there must be one child care personnel for every 11 children. 4. For children 3 years of age or older, but under 4 years of age, there must be one child care personnel for every 15 children. 5. For children 4 years of age or older, but under 5 years of age, there must be one child care personnel for every 20 children. 6. For children 5 years of age or older, there must be one child care personnel for every 25 children. 7. When children 2 years of age and older are in care, the staff-to-children ratio shall be based on the age group with the largest number of children within the group

33-13 · Training Requirements
During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed that there were 3 child care personnel that did not complete the School Readiness Pre-Service training within 90 days of working at the facility. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, School Readiness Program Health and Safety Standards Handbook 3.1 Child care personnel must successfully complete the preservice training coursework described in this section, as applicable. All child care personnel must complete these preservice training requirements within 90 days of initial employment with any School Readiness provider. This timeframe does not start over if personnel change employment to another School Readiness provider within this initial 90 days. 12-07 · Facility Environment
12-7: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed a safety deficiency with a moderate potential to harm, in that there were 2 infants in a high chair without being strapped in. During the inspection, the infants were strapped in. This is being marked corrected at the time of the inspection. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 3.1 All child care facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety. Any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children. Documentation of the indoor play area inspection must be maintained for 12 months

33-03 · Training Requirements
During the time of inspection, the Owner/Operator/Director advised the Licensing Specialist that there 7 employees. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored 7 of the 7 employee records. REMINDER: In-service training for 2024/2025 fiscal year must be completed before July 1, 2025. 33-3: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed 1 employee did not start the DCF 40 hour of introductory training within 90 days of the hire date. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 4.1 Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child care industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a Department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a Department-approved training course, beginning a Department-approved online child care training course, or by receiving results from a Department-approved competency examination. 40-04 · Medication
TA: CCF Handbook, Section 6.5 A: The child care program must have written authorization from the custodial parent or legal guardian to give prescription and non-prescription medications. This authorization must be dated and signed by the custodial parent or legal guardian and contain the childs name; the name of the medication to be given; and date, time and amount of the correct dosage to be given. Prescription and non-prescription medications that are used on an as needed basis require the parent/ legal guardian to provide additional documentation on the authorization form to describe symptoms that would require the medication to be given. The child care provider must never administer a medication that is prescribed for one child to another child. 40-4: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed that there was one diaper cream that was not in the original container. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 6.5, C Prescription and non- prescription medication brought to the child care facility by the custodial parent or legal guardian must be in the original container. Prescription medication must have a label stating the name and contact information of the physician and/or pharmacy, childs name, name of the medication, and medication directions. Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse: The Background Screening Clearinghouse will generate e-mails and send you, the provider, a reminder at 60, 30, and 21 days prior to the retention date expiration.
