12-2: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed that there were some areas of the facility that were not in good repair, in that there is one cabinet that was not fully attached in the kitchen under the sink, and one of the handwashing sinks in the two year old 2 classroom was not operational. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, A All child care facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety. Any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children. Documentation of the indoor play area inspection must be maintained for 12 months

During the inspection, CCR observed the handwashing station did not have hot running water. The director was given until August 21, 2023, to come into compliance with this standard. During the inspection, CCR provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook 3.9.1 Food Preparation Area 7. A separate handwashing station with hot running water, a minimum of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The handwashing station must include a sink with running water and drainage, soap, trash can, and disposable towels or hand-drying machines that are properly installed and maintained. A handwashing sink shall not be used for any purpose other than handwashing. Handwashing stations must include posted signs visible to childcare personnel and children demonstrating proper handwashing technique. Portable sinks may not be used for dishwashing or food preparation. If a portable sink is used for handwashing in the food preparation area, hot water must be provided

During the inspection, CCR observed that the facility did not have temperature logs with the temperature of the food that they received. The director was given until August 21, 2023, to come into compliance with this standard. During the inspection, CCR provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.3, E.1 Food Safety - E. If a facility chooses to provide or make available food to children in care from an outside source, such as a caterer, or a licensed child care facility under the same ownership that includes a food preparation area that meets licensing Child Care Facility Handbook Page | 33 standards, or as the result of a learning activity provided by a child care program, such as a garden, it is the responsibility of the provider to ensure all food intended for consumption by a child in care is free from spoilage and contamination and safe for human consumption. 1. A log must be maintained for all prepared meals being transported into the facility. The log must be retained for a minimum of 12 months. The log must include the delivery date, time of arrival, quantity and types of food, verification by the recipient of adequate temperatures of food, and the name and signature of the recipient. The facility shall not accept food that is not at the appropriate holding temperature

During the inspection, the director advised that there are currently 21 employees. During the inspection, CCR observed 21 of 21 employee records. The director was given until August 21, 2023, to come into compliance with this standard. When the CCR was reviewing the files the CCR seen personnel #1 did not finish her 40-hour training. During the inspection, CCR provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 4.2.1 Mandated Introductory Training Childcare personnel must successfully complete 40 hours of childcare training as evidenced by successful completion of competency examinations offered by the Department or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. Childcare personnel who successfully completed the mandatory 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training prior to January 1, 2004, are not required to fulfill the competency examination requirement. A. Part I Courses (30 Hours) Childcare personnel must complete all of the following: Child Care Facility Rules and Regulations Health, Safety and Nutrition ,Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Child Growth and Development Behavioral Observation and Screening B. Part II Courses (10 Hours) Child care personnel must also complete 10 hours of the following Part II courses: Special Needs Appropriate Practices (10 hours), or Understanding Developmentally Appropriate Practices (5 hours) and one of the following courses: 1. Infant and Toddler Appropriate Practices (5 hours) 2. Preschool Appropriate Practices (5 hours) 3. School- Age Appropriate Practices (5 hours)
