During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist tested the cleaning supplies, which showed a dark purple result. This indicated that the bleach concentration was too high and exceeded safety levels. The Operator advised the Licensing Specialist that she had reviewed the policy handbook prior to preparing the bleach spray but did not find any instructions regarding this matter. The Licensing Specialist provided the Operator with some test kits for future use. The Operator advised that she will purchase additional test paper later. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided TA per FDCH Handbook:" 7.2 Toxic Substances, Hazardous Materials and Poisonous Items B. All potentially harmful items including cleaning supplies, flammable products, poisonous, toxic, and hazardous materials must be labeled and used according to manufacturers recommendation. D. Cleaning must not take place while rooms are occupied by children except for general clean-up activities that are part of the daily routine. General cleaning refers to cleaning necessary to maintain a sanitary environment but that does not pose a hazard to children, such as wiping the table after lunch, soaking toys in a tub on the countertop, sweeping. This does not include cleaning with hazardous materials or any cleaning which poses a risk of slipping or falling."
