12-02 · Facility Environment
During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed areas of the popcorn ceiling paint are cracked and peeling in the three -year-old room. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed a crack in the ceiling stretching from one side of the room to the other and large water stains in the two-year old room. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, per the CCF Handbook: All childcare facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety. Any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children. Documentation of the indoor play area inspection must be maintained for 12 months."

During the time inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed the Fire Extinguishers in both vehicles did not have a minimum reading 2A10BC. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, per the CCF Handbook: "The distance to the nearest extinguisher shall not be more than 75 feet from rooms occupied by children. A fire extinguisher must be present in vehicles used to transport children and areas where food is prepared."

35-12 · Communicable Disease Control
During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed the facility did not have documentation for seven childcare personnel on required annual refresher education of the facilitys exposure plan. During the time of the inspection, this was resolved by the Director going over the facility Exposure Plan with staff and supplying the documentation to the Licensing Specialist. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, per the CCF Handbook: "Children in care must be observed on a daily basis for signs of communicable disease. B. Any child, childcare personnel, or other person in the childcare facility suspected of having a communicable disease must be removed from the program or placed in an isolation area until removed. Such person may not return without medical authorization, or until the signs and symptoms of the disease are no longer present. If the local health department official or primary health care provider suspects that a child or childcare personnel are contributing to the transmission of the illness, are not adequately immunized when there is an outbreak of a vaccine-preventable disease, or the circulating pathogen poses an increased risk to the individual. The child or childcare personnel must not return until the health department or primary health care provider determines the risk of transmission is no longer present. Childcare personnel who work in the food preparation area may not return until the signs and symptoms of the disease have not been present for 48 hours."
