Licensing Specialist observed many rusty areas on the yellow metal tube that the facility called Rocketship. Licensing Specialist observe that the yellow slide on the permanent playground equipment had a loose nail where the slide connects to the wooden platform from the top. Licensing Specialist observe that the one picnic table's two benches had broken corners, the broken areas measured between 1/2 and 1 inch. TA was provided: Licensing Specialist discussed requirement with the provider, the rusty area must be covered completely, the loose nail must be nailed back in, and the benches on the picnic table must be fixed or replaced. 17-06 · Outdoor Play Area/Fencing
licensing Specialist observed a broken fence panel; the panel was broken from the bottom leaving a gap that measures 7 inches Hight and 4 inches in Width. Licensing Specialist discussed requirement with the staff responsible, the panel must be fixed, and the gap must be closed. CF Handbook, Section 3.5, Outdoor Play Area F. The outdoor play area must have adequate fencing or walls a minimum of 4 feet in height. Fencing, including gates, must be continuous and must not have gaps or opening larger than 3 inches that would allow children to exit the outdoor play area. The base of the fence must remain at ground level and be free from erosion or buildup to prevent inside and outside access by children or animals. These areas must have at least two exits, with at least one being remote from the buildings. If an outdoor play area was approved for usage by the Department prior to October 25, 2017, no new exits are required to be added to meet this standard. However, if outdoor play area fencing is changed then the standard would apply, and two exits must be provided

18-03 · Bedding and Linens
Licensing Specialist observed that the napping mats were covered with the sheets and stored together in one place touching one another. TA was provided: Licensing Specialist disscussed requirement with the director. Director removed the sheets and will send them home to be washed, thus returning this standard into compliance at the time of this inspection. CCF Handbook, 3.6.1 Bedding and Linens Each child in care must be provided safe and sanitary bedding to be used when napping or sleeping. Nap bedding is not required for school-age children; however, the program must provide an area for children that choose to rest. A. Sleep bedding includes beds, cribs, or mattresses. Air and foam mattresses are prohibited. B. If children are sleeping overnight in the facility, child care personnel must ensure accepted bedtime routines are practiced, such as brushing teeth and washing face and hands. 1. Toothbrushes, towels, and wash cloths may not be shared. 2. Toothbrushes must be stored so that they cannot touch each other. C. Nap bedding includes sleep bedding, cots, playpens, play yards or floor mats. Air and foam mattresses are prohibited. D. Floor mats must be at least one-inch thick and covered with an impermeable surface. E. Bedding must be appropriate for the childs size. F. Linens, if used, must be washed at least once a week and more often if soiled or dirty. Linens used by more than one child must be washed in between usage. Linens must be provided when children are sleeping, and pillows and blankets must be available. For children under the age of one, please follow the requirements outlined in section 3.6.4. G. Bedding and linens, when not in use, must be stored in a sanitary manner which prevents the spread of germs or lice from other linens. All bedding and linens must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at least once a week, and before use by another child. H. Bedding and linens shall not be stored in the bathroom, unless stored in cabinets. I. No double or multi-deck cribs, cots, or beds may be used
