Licensing Specialist observed Provider remove disinfectant spray and place it out of reach of children. This standard was brought back into compliance during the time of inspection. During the time of inspection, Licensing Specialist observed a candle burning in the Providers bedroom which leads into the childcare area. Licensing Specialist also observed a shelf full of scented lotions, perfumes, hair sprays, gels, nail polish remover and scissors located in the Providers bedroom that were accessible to the children in care. Licensing Specialist observed Provider blow out the candle and place all items into a trash bag and put them out of reach of children into a locked bedroom. This standard was brought back into compliance during the time of inspection. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, section 7.2 Toxic Substances, Hazardous Materials and Poisonous Items A. All areas and surfaces accessible to children shall be free from toxic substances and hazardous materials/equipment/tools, including power tools, plastic bags, matches, candles, lighters, etc. These items, as well as knives, sharp tools, BB guns, pellet guns and other potentially dangerous hazards, shall either be stored and in a locked area or must be inaccessible and out of a childs reach. B. All potentially harmful items including cleaning supplies, flammable products, poisonous, toxic, and hazardous materials must be labeled and used according to manufacturers recommendation

14-02 · Outdoor Time, Fencing and Play Area Requirements FDCH/LFCCH Handbook
During the time of inspection, Licensing Specialist observed peeling paint along the side of the house in the children's outdoor play area. Licensing Specialist observed a buildup of dust in the dryer vent on the outside of the house in the children's outdoor play area. Licensing Specialist observed Provider clean dust out of vent during the inspection. Licensing Specialist observed tools and nails on the window ledge in the outdoor play area. Licensing Specialist observed Provider remove all items and place them out of reach of children. Licensing Specialist observed a wasp building a nest and hovering inside the corner of the door that leads out into the outdoor play area. Licensing Specialist observed Provider remove nest from door and the wasp flew away. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, section 7.6 Outdoor Time, Fencing and Play Area Requirements A. Outdoor Play areas shall be clean, in good repair and free from litter, nails, glass, and other hazards

29-09 · Medication FDCH/LFCCH Handbook
During the time of inspection, Licensing Specialist observed diaper creme, prescription body oil, Orajel, cold and cough medicine and baby laxatives being stored in bins under the changing table which was accessible to children in care. Provider advised Licensing Specialist that the medication belonged to her grandchild. Licensing Specialist observed Provider remove all medication and place them in a locked bedroom. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, section 7.24 Medication The family day care home or large family child care home is not required to give medication; however, if they choose to do so, the following shall apply: A. The operator must have written authorization from the custodial parent or legal guardian to dispense prescription and non-prescription medications. This authorization must be dated and signed by the custodial parent or legal guardian and must contain the childs name; the name of the medication to be dispensed; and the date, time and amount of dosage to be given. This record shall be initialed or signed by the child care personnel who gave the medication. Prescription and non-prescription medications that are used on an as needed basis require the parent/ legal guardian to provide additional documentation on the authorization form to describe symptoms that would require the medication to be given. The child care personnel must never administer a medication that is prescribed for one child to another child. C. Prescription and non-prescription medication brought to the home by the custodial parent or legal guardian must be in the original container. D. Prescription medication must have a label stating the name of the physician and/or pharmacy and contact information, childs name, name of the medication, and medication directions. E. All prescription and non-prescription medication shall be dispensed according to written directions on the prescription label or printed manufacturers label and maintained at the appropriate temperature. H. All medicine must have child resistant caps, if applicable, and shall either be stored in a locked area or must be inaccessible and out of a childs reach. L. Use of diaper creams and insect repellant may only be utilized with written permission from parents/guardians. Manufacturer instructions should be followed
