12-02 · Facility Environment
During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed there to be peeling paint on the walls in the Entry hallway and on the brown door in the Red Room. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed the molding strips to be coming off of the walls in the Red Room and Yellow Room. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed there to be a hole in the tile near pipe work, patchwork around pipes that is peeling off, and a white board that needs to be re-caulked to the wall as it is beginning to lift causing the caulk to peel off the sides in the Blue Room. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance: per the CCF Handbook "A. All child care facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety. Any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children. Documentation of the indoor play area inspection must be maintained for 12 months."

13-02 · Toxic Substances, Hazardous Materials and Weapons
During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed there to be a Bleach solution and Clorox solution in bottles to be in a bucket on the floor in the Entry way by the front door where children enter and exit the facility for pick up and drop off. During the time of the inspection, this was resolved by a staff member taking the bucket to the upstairs portion of the facility where children do not have access. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed there to be grocery bags, gallon sized Ziploc bags, and a whole puncher to be in a storage area, in a hallway where children walk through to get to the restroom, covered by a curtain with no lock. Items were found to be within reach of children stored on open shelving and in unlocked drawers, making them accessible. During the time of the inspection, the this was resolved by a staff member removing the items from the storage area. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance: per the CCF Handbook "B. All potentially harmful items, including cleaning supplies, flammable products, poisonous, toxic, and hazardous materials, must be labeled and used according to manufacturers recommendation. These items, as well as knives, sharp tools, and other potentially dangerous hazards, must be stored in a locked area or must be inaccessible and out of a childs reach at all times."

17-01 · Outdoor Play Area/Fencing
During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed to be peeling paint on the cemented area of the outdoor play area. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed the trim around the exterior of a window unit to be warped and peeling. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed there to be holes in the fencing, leaving sharp edges. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed the trim in the outdoor restroom to be dry rotted and the trim around the cement portion of the outdoor area to be in need of repair. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance: per the CCF Handbook "A. The outdoor play area must be clean and free from litter, nails, glass and other hazards."

During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed several napping mats to have rips and tears in the vinyl exposing the foam inside. During the time of the inspection, this was resolved by a staff member removing the mats with rips and tears and replacing them with mats that meet Licensing standards. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance: per the CCF Handbook "D. Floor mats must be at least one-inch thick and covered with an impermeable surface."

12-02 · Facility Environment
CCRC observed a water heater that was installed inside the VPK outdoor bathroom by the mop sink was rusted around the bottom and the top side. Director informed CCRC that the do not really use that bathroom and they do not send children alone to that bathroom. CCRC observed a wooden accordion door frame installed, Owner Informed CCRC that the use to have an accordion door to separate the bathroom from the mop sink and the water heater. CCRC observed a green ladder against the wall in the same bathroom. TA was provided Owner removed the ladder. Owner will sand and repaint the water heater and or reinstall the door to separate the bathroom area from the mop sink ,water heater and any other hazard. CCRC observed the PVC fence that is located on the side exit was coming apart, Fence was moving side to side. Provider will fix the fence, sand and repaint the water heater and/or re-install the door to separate the bathroom area from the mop sink ,water heater and any other hazard by given due date. 3 Physical Environment Children are much more susceptible to the adverse effects of environmental factors, materials and toxicants. It is imperative that the child care environment is conducive to the healthy development of children. 3.1 General Health and Safety Requirements A. All child care facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety.
