13-02 · Toxic Substances, Hazardous Materials and Weapons
During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed the sink cabinet in the VPK A room to be unlocked leaving gallon sized Ziploc bags and cleaning supplies; Dyna Cleaner Disinfectant Virucide, Method All Purpose Cleaner, Great Value Disinfectant Wipes, Air Wick Odor Spray, and Microban accessible to the children in care. The Licensing Specialist observed gallon sized Ziploc bags, in an unlocked drawer, gallon sized Ziploc bags on a shelf with toys in it to be accessible to the children in care. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed hand lotion, hand sanitizer, and perfume to be on a shelf where children can reach to be accessible to the children in care in the VPK B Room. The Licensing Specialist observed gallon sized Ziploc bags in a shelf storing a puzzle, and grocery bags stored in an unlocked cabinet to be accessible to the children in care. The Licensing Specialist observed hand lotion and hand sanitizer to be on a shelf where children can reach to be accessible. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed there to be gallon sized Ziploc bags in an unlocked drawer leaving them accessible to the children in care in the two year old room. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance: per the CCF Handbook "All potentially harmful items, including cleaning supplies, flammable products, poisonous, toxic, and hazardous materials, must be labeled and used according to manufacturers recommendation. These items, as well as knives, sharp tools, and other potentially dangerous hazards, must be stored in a locked area or must be inaccessible and out of a childs reach at all times."

During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed the linens for napping to all be stored directly on top of one another with nothing separating them from touching in a cabinet. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialis provided technical assistance: per the CCF Handbook "Bedding and linens, when not in use, must be stored in a sanitary manner which prevents the spread of germs or lice from other linens. All bedding and linens must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at least once a week, and before use by another child. H. Bedding and linens shall not be stored in the bathroom, unless stored in cabinets."

During the inspection, the Operator advised that the facility provides meals and snacks to the children that are in care. ***The provider is a food program participant. **** During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that the facility did not have a list posted in an easily accessible location listing children's allergies and food restrictions. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance: per the CCF Handbook "If a special diet is required for a child by a physician, a copy of the physicians order, a copy of the diet, and a sample meal plan for the special diet must be maintained in the childs file and followed. If the custodial parent or legal guardian notifies the program of any known food allergies, written documentation must be maintained in the childs file for as long as the child is in care. Special food restrictions must be shared with child care personnel posted in an easily seen location that is not readily visible by parents or non-child care personnel and followed."

In the event of an emergency, non-prescription medication that is not brought in by the parent or legal guardian can be dispensed only if the program has written permission from the parent or legal guardian to do so. This information shall be documented on CF-FSP Form 5219, Child Care Application for Enrollment, which is incorporated by reference in 65C-22.001(7) (f), F.A.C., or an equivalent form that contains all the information required by the Department on CF-FSP Form 5219. During time of inspection CCRC observed that an employee did not meet her requirements for the 5-hour literacy training within the year mark of employment. 4.2.2 Early Literacy Training Pursuant to Section 402.305(2)(e)5., F.S., all childcare personnel must complete a single course of training in early literacy and language development of children ages birth through five years that is a minimum of five clock hours or .5 CEUs. Early literacy training must be completed within 12 months of date of employment in the childcare industry. Proof of completion may be documented on a certificate of course, completion, classroom transcript, or diploma. Childcare personnel must complete one of the following: A.
