During the inspection in the absence of a fence or barrier, the swimming pool alarm was found to be inoperable. According to the DCF Handbook Section 7.7, A 7.7 Swimming Pools A. All in-ground swimming pools and above-ground swimming pools more than one-foot deep shall have either a fence or barrier on all four sides, at a minimum of four feet in height, separating the home from the swimming pool, or a pool alarm that is operable at all times when children are in care. The fence or barrier shall not have any gaps or openings that would allow a young child to crawl under, squeeze through, or climb up the barrier

During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed there to be diaper creams no written medical authorization from the custodial parent or guardian. During the time of the inspection, this was resolved by the Operator removing the diaper creams. During the time of the inspection, the licensing Specialist provided technical assistance: per the FDCH Handbook "A. The operator must have written authorization from the custodial parent or legal guardian to dispense prescription and non-prescription medications. This authorization must be dated and signed by the custodial parent or legal guardian and must contain the childs name; the name of the medication to be dispensed; and the date, time and amount of dosage to be given. This record shall be initialed or signed by the child care personnel who gave the medication. Prescription and non-prescription medications that are used on an as needed basis require the parent/ legal guardian to provide additional documentation on the authorization form to describe symptoms that would require the medication to be given. The child care personnel must never administer a medication that is prescribed for one child to another child. L. Use of diaper creams and insect repellant may only be utilized with written permission from parents/guardians. Manufacturer instructions should be followed
