During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed an infant who was awake, in an infant seat in another room that was out of sight of Provider and Substitute. The Licensing Specialist advised the Provider to bring infant back into the same room with the other children for adequate supervision. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed Provider bring infant back into view in order to provide direct supervision. This violation was brought back into compliance during the time of the inspection. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, section 6 Supervision A. The operator shall remain responsible for the supervision of the children in care and capable of responding to emergencies and the needs of the children at all times. Child care personnel must directly supervise children, both indoors and outdoors, by sight and sound. The Licensing Specialist returned to the home on 2/21/24 to check the swimming pool. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that the in-ground swimming pool water was not clear/clean of debris. The Provider advised that they are unable to remove the water that is in the pool, but they are not using it. The barrier around the pool had gaps/openings that could allow for children to gain access to the swimming pool. During the time of the inspection, the Provider advised the Licensing Specialist that the swimming pool will not be utilized for the children that will be in care. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, section 7.7 Swimming Pools A. All in-ground swimming pools and above-ground swimming pools more than one-foot deep shall have either a fence or barrier on all four sides, at a minimum of four feet in height, separating the home from the swimming pool, or a pool alarm that is operable at all times when children are in care. The fence or barrier shall not have any gaps or openings that would allow a young child to crawl under, squeeze through, or climb up the barrier. G. If a home has a swimming pool and/or spa, it shall be maintained by using chlorine or other suitable chemicals.
