    16-02 · Appropriate, Safe and Sanitary Bedding FDCH/LFCCH Handbook

    During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed 2 infants sleeping, 1 in a bouncer and 1 in a bassinet, both with blankets. During the time of the inspection, this was resolved by the Operator removing the blankets from the sleeping infants. and removing the infants from the bouncer and bassinet. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, per the FDCH Handbook:A. A home must include a designated area where each child can sit quietly or lie down to rest or nap. Each child in care must be provided safe and sanitary bedding to be used when napping or sleeping. Linens must be washed at least once a week and more often if soiled or dirty. All bedding and linens must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at least once a week and before use by another child. Bedding and linens, when not in use, must be stored in a sanitary manner which prevents the spread of germs or lice from other linens."

The Licensing Specialist asked for the Operator to move the infants to a safe sleeping area and observed only 1 playpen available for the infants to sleep. The operator placed one infant in the playpen, at this time the other infant was awake. There was no additional playpen or crib for the second infant to sleep. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, per the FDCH Handbook:A.
