A complaint allegation was received alleging that On 4/10/23, there was an incident at the daycare where the children attend. A few different students threatened child GM (6y/o), saying they were going to kick him in the balls. AM got between GM and the other students in attempts to prevent them from hitting him. The students proceeded to attack AM, GM, and VM. They were being hit and scratched and had balls thrown at their heads. After this incident, Child V. sustained bruises and scratches on his face and arms that are still present a week later and are scarring. There were 7 children in total that were involved in this incident. Reportedly, the children are constantly bullied by kids at the school, being egged on to fight them, and nothing is done. Child, V, was terrified of returning to the daycare, crying anytime the mother tried to take him. On 4/11/23, AM was attacked by JC, one of the same students who attacked the children the day before. She was the one who started the fight and said she was going to kick GM. JC punched AM in the temple, mouth, and nose while they were at the school. The school didn't separate them after the incident on the 10th, even when they were aware of what happened. There are concerns that the children aren't being properly supervised since this has happened multiple times and nothing has been put in place to prevent it. No incident reports have been filed regarding any altercations that have occurred. A complaint inspection was conducted on 4/21/2023 and statement was received from all 3 staff involved (TJ, VG and SH). There were two incidents that occurred, one on 4/10/23 and the second incident on 4/11/23. Per VG, she was present during the first incident that occurred on 4/10/2023. When the children arrived at the preschool for aftercare, AM was holding her brother close and when asked why she stated that? she said "the girls were trying to hit him". When they went out to the playground that day, AM and JC were fighting on the playground and it was the other kids that split them up, not the teacher. The incident occurred around 5:00PM. Per TJ, she was present during the second incident on 4/11/2023. This was her first day working at the preschool and she didn't know the children's names yet. The incident happened on the playground behind a slide structure. TJ was standing by the entrance door leading to the playground when one of the children went up to get her and said "she's bleeding". The teacher went to see what happened and saw AM on the floor crying. Per the teacher, the children told her that JC slapped AM but the children that were terminated were AM and HJ. Per SH, she was cleaning the aftercare room on 4/11/2023 when the second incident occurred on the playground. She was advised to keep AM and her sibling separate from the other group due to the incident that occurred the day before with AM and JC. entire group went to the playground with MS. TJ and Ms. SH stayed behind to clean the room. Then, she heard the commotion and saw AM with a bloody face and scratches on her face and arms. AM is very protective of her brother since he is always bothering the other girls ,AM, would step in and defend her brother. The staff nor director are aware of any incident involving the 1y/o child where he sustained bruises as he is in the toddler classroom away from the school age children. The children's enrollment was terminated (HJ, AM, GM, and VM) due to an altercation that happened between the parents outside the front of the facility where police had to be called. This complaint is substantiated for inadequate supervision as the children's outdoor activity was not supervised within close proximity in the outdoor play area. The staff member in charge noticed the commotion and responded until a child came to get her. TA was provided on constant adequate supervision of all groups, including aftercare
