33-03 · Training Requirements
While reviewing personnel records, RSPM Jalaber observed that the employee listed on the supplemental statement did not initiate their 40hr Introductory Training (Part 1 or Part 2 courses) within 90 days of hire. Technical Assistance: Childcare personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the childcare industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Corrective action completed, staff initiated training prior to the inspection being uploaded. New SR Heath and safety courses will be available January 1, 2024. All SR personnel who completed DCF training or Early Learning Florida (ELFL) health and safety modules must take these two new courses by June 30, 2024. Safety in the School Readiness Program (5 hours)Health and Nutrition in the School Readiness Program (4 hours) ***Copy of new SR PRe-service Flyer (Sept 2023) flyer emailed to provider with a copy of the inspection. In reviewing personnel records, RSPM Jalaber observed that the facility did not have at least 3 childcare employees onsite with the CPR certification. Technical Assistance: Effective December 31, 2021, the facility shall maintain the following number of childcare personnel with the CPR certification and first aid training that are on site. at the facility at all times children are in care. For childcare personnel to count to meet requirement in the below chart, they shall be childcare personnel assigned. to provide direct supervision of children in care: 0-25 childcare personnel in direct supervision of children to meet staff to child operating ratios = 3 minimum number of childcare personnel required to have Pediatric CPR certification and First Aid training on site at all times when children are present.
