17-06 · Outdoor Play Area/Fencing
3.5 Outdoor Play Area F. The outdoor play area must have adequate fencing or walls a minimum of 4 feet in height. Fencing, including gates, must be continuous and must not have gaps or opening larger than three and a half inches that would allow children to exit the outdoor play area. The base of the fence must remain at ground level and be free from erosion or buildup to prevent inside and outside access by children or animals. These areas must have at least two exits, with at least one being remote from the buildings. If an outdoor play area was approved for usage by the Department prior to October 25, 2017, no new exits are required to be added to meet this standard. However, if outdoor play area fencing is changed then the standard would apply, and two exits must be provided. The bottom of the gate has a couple of gaps that are larger that 6 inches wide. The facility does not have documentation showing personnel completed the 40 hour Introductory Child Care Training requirement. CCF Handbook Section 4.2.1 Child care personnel must successfully complete 40 hours of child care training as evidenced by successful completion of competency examinations offered by the Department or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. 33-03 · Training Requirements
The facility does not have documentation to show child care personnel had begun the introductory training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry. CCF Handbook, Section 4.1 Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child care industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. Licensing counselor observed child care personnel did not have an attendance roster accompanying children who were on the playground. At the time of inspection the director provided rosters to each group. Director states she has never been informed to have the attendance roster when outside.
