The fire drill log did not contain elements for a fire drill in the month of April. The licensing specialist found the director on site to not have a current directors credential, which expired on August 10th. The Childcare Facility Handbook states: 4.7 Director Credential Section 402.305(2)(g), F.S., requires a child care facility to have a credentialed director. During inspection, the licensing specialist found bottles in the three/four-year-old classroom, and in the VPK classroom, that did not have their full names. No onsite inspection was conducted. The re inspection was completed by email correspondence with the Director regarding employee, JC. The employee was not able to complete the Intro training on 11/19/2023. The employee is scheduled to take the last 2 tests on 12/9/2023. No onsite inspection was conducted. The re inspection was completed by document submission via email from the Director of the program on 11/1/2023 to this Licensing Counselor. Counselor was informed that employee, TP, was not able to complete the 10 hours of annual in services for the licensing year of 7/1/2022-6/30/2023 with the first extension she was given. The Director has requested that more time be given for the employee to complete the trainings. Counselor has made the Director aware that it will be the second noncompliance regarding this standard. The Director has been informed that the next noncompliance regarding this standard could result in a fine. The Director is in agreement with this. 13-02 · Toxic Substances, Hazardous Materials and Weapons
During the inspection, Counselor observed two cabinets in the children's bathroom that held cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer to be open and in reach of children. The Director removed all the chemicals in the cabinets up to a higher place and out of reach of the children during the inspection. The Child Care Facility Handbook states on page 22 that: 3.2 Toxic/Hazardous Material/Firearms/Weapons A. All areas and surfaces accessible to children must be free from toxic substances, bio contaminants, and hazardous materials/equipment/tools, including power tools, plastic bags, matches, candles, lighters, etc. B. During the inspection, Counselor observed an EpiPen in a container other than the original container. The facility will inform the parent of the requirements for medication and send the expired medication home with the child today. The Child Care Facility Handbook states on page 56 that: C. During the inspection, Counselor observed two children's medications. One child had two EpiPens and an albuterol inhaler. All three of the medications were expired. The other child has an EpiPen that was expired. The teacher will send home the medication today and let the parents know about the medication requirements.
