Licensing Specialist gave technical assistance to the staff and director explaining how the child care personnel must position themselves in the outdoor play area so that all children can be observed and directly supervised. This violation was resolved the day of the incident

23-25 · Fire Drills
The provider did not contact the Licensing office to notify them of the incident that a child have been left behind on the playground. The facility must have a written plan for reporting and managing any incident or unusual occurrence that is threatening to the health, safety, or welfare of the children or child care personnel to the licensing authority. On 12/19/2024 Licensing Specialist received a call from the facility, to advice that they would be closing on 12/20/2024 because their was issues with the water lift system

39-03 · Technical assistance was provided by the licensing specialist to the director regarding proper documentation of accidents and incidents that occur at the facility. All accidents and incidents that occur while a child is in the care of program must be documented on the same day they occur. Documentation must be shared with the custodial parent or legal guardian on the day the accident/incident occurs

13-02 · Toxic Substances, Hazardous Materials and Weapons
Licensing specialist observed Clorox disinfectant wipes, on a shelf at the reach of children in the three year old room. Technical Assistance (TA) was given to the director in regard to properly storing cleaning supplies and harmful items in a secured and inaccessible area. All potentially harmful items, including cleaning supplies, flammable products, poisonous, toxic, and hazardous materials, must be labeled and used according to manufacturers recommendation. These items, as well as knives, sharp tools, and other potentially dangerous hazards, must be stored in a locked area or must be inaccessible and out of a child's reach at all times. CCF Handbook, Section 3.2, B. Wipes were place out of the reach of children at the time of inspection, placing this standard back in compliance

23-06 · Fire Drills
The LS observed the fire drill log did not include dates of drills during the months of November and December 2024. This was marked back into compliance today when the counselor observed the facility completing a fire drill. LS provided technical assistance explaining that "during the facilitys license year, fire drills utilizing the alarm system, approved by the local fire authority, must be conducted monthly at various dates and times when children are in care." During the inspection, a fire drill was conducted in the presence of the Licensing Specialist. There were 3 adults and 14 children present. The last approved fire inspection for this facility was dated 7/30/2024. The fire extinguisher certifications are valid until 8/2025

33-01 · Training Requirements
Child care personnel must successfully complete 40 hours of child care training as evidenced by successful completion of competency examinations offered by the Department or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better . Child care personnel who successfully completed the mandatory 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training prior to January 1, 2004 are not required to fulfill the competency examination requirement. A. Part I Courses (30 Hours) Child care personnel must complete all of the following: ? Child Care Facility Rules and Regulations ? Health, Safety and Nutrition ? Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect ? Child Growth and Development ? Behavioral Observation and Screening B. Part II Courses (10 Hours) Child care personnel must also complete 10 hours of the following Part II courses: ? Special Needs Appropriate Practices (10 hours), or ? Understanding Developmentally Appropriate Practices (5 hours) and one of the following courses: 1. Infant and Toddler Appropriate Practices (5 hours) 2. Preschool Appropriate Practices (5 hours) 3. School- Age Appropriate Practices (5 hours) One staff member noted on the supplemental who started in the child care industry on 10/9/2023 has not completed the Introduction Course. The Licensing Counselor provided technical assistance explaining that training must be completed within 12 months from the day employment begins in the child care industry
