While inspecting the classrooms, the licensing specialist observed unlocked cabinets with cleaning chemicals and supplies inside, in the three and four-year-old classrooms. The interim director was notified, and locks were ordered. The Child Care Facility Handbook states: 3.2 Toxic/Hazardous Material/Firearms/Weapons B. All potentially harmful items, including cleaning supplies, flammable products, poisonous, toxic, and hazardous materials, must be labeled and used according to manufacturers recommendation. These items, as well as knives, sharp tools, and other potentially dangerous hazards, must be stored in a locked area or must be inaccessible and out of a childs reach at all times

17-01 · Outdoor Play Area/Fencing
During the inspection of the outdoor area, the licensing specialist noticed a small portion of trash near the fence on the playground. The director said this was because of a racoon problem but stated the trash will be picked up before this portion of the playground is open to children. The licensing specialist also noticed a fence gate open however there were no children on the playground due to recent weather conditions. There is a small hole in the fence that must be fixed as well. The Child Care Facility Handbook states: 3.5 Outdoor Play Area A. The outdoor play area must be clean and free from litter, nails, glass and other hazards. E. The facilitys outdoor play area must be fenced as required by local ordinances to prevent access by children to all water hazards within or adjacent to outdoor play areas, such as pools, ditches, retention ponds, and fish ponds
