During the time of inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed one of the portable playhouses on the playground to have exposed screws and damaged wood on the inside of the roof which may cause harm/injury to a child. The Provider removed the playhouse from the playground and disposed of it. This standard was brought back into compliance. Per CCF Handbook Section 3.12, B, F Outdoor Equipment B. All playground equipment must be securely anchored, unless portable or stationary by design, in good repair, maintained in safe and sanitary condition, and placed to ensure safe use by the children. Maintenance must include inspections conducted every month of all supports above and below the ground and of all connectors and moving parts. Documentation of maintenance inspections must be maintained for 12 months. F. All equipment used in the outdoor play area must be constructed and maintained according to manufacturers recommendations and allow for water drainage. Any open containers with water must be emptied immediately after use, i.e. pots, toys, or other equipment that collects water

During the time of inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that there was not adequate ground cover to provide protection from injury or harm to children while on the 2 swing areas on the playground. The Provider advised the Licensing Specialist that they would correct immediately. Per CCF Handbook Section 3.12, D Outdoor Equipment D. Permanent or stationary playground equipment must have a fall/use zone that extends a minimum of 6 feet in all directions from the perimeter of the equipment. All types of ground cover must be maintained to provide resilience and reduce the incidence of injuries to children in the event of falls
