32:07-During the previous inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that the protective surface under the climbing structure was not maintained. The protective surface was not 6 inches deep. The ground cover underneath the climbing structure was exposed and shredding. The mulch was measure at 0.5 inches deep During the reinspection, Licensing Specialist observed the mulch was reading at 2 inches in depth and in places there was ground covering showing and was shredding and there was two screws sitting out of the bottom of the helicopter. The director was given until July 18, 2025, to come into compliance with this standard. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 3.12.D.1- Outdoor Equipment. D. Permanent or stationary playground equipment must have a fall/use zone that extends a minimum of 6 feet in all directions from the perimeter of the equipment. All types of ground cover must be maintained to provide resilience and reduce the incidence of injuries to children in the event of falls. Child Care Facility Handbook Page | 39 1. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed in the 2 year old room there was paint peeling on the wall where the cots are located, in the infant room paint was peeling on the wall with the windows and the wall with the sink and in the preschool room the blue wall to the right by the tables had paint peeling. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed dust and tape in the ventilation system in the toddler classroom, and dust in the ventilation system in the bathroom between the toddler and infant classrooms. This standard was brought back in compliance at the time of the inspection in that staff cleaned the vents, cleared dust from the vents, and removed the tape from the inside of the ventilation system. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed a box of Cheerios cereal expired. The "best if used by" date was 2/22/2025. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that all personnel did not complete annual refresher training. 12-4: The facility had two toilets. During the inspection on 2/17/2025, the assistant director advised that both of the toilets at the facility were not operational, in that it was clogged. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed that there was a plumber at the facility trying to repair the toilets, however the plumber stated that at this time they could not figure out how to fix the clog. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist advised that the children could not be at the facility without having an operational toilet. During the inspection, the assistant director contacted the parents to come pick up the children. Once all of the parents had picked up their children, the plumber was able to fix the clogged toilets. This is being marked corrected at the time of the inspection. 37-6: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist checked the facilitys first aid kit. Licensing Specialist observed that the facility did not have a thermometer. The assistant director advised that she just discarded two thermometers because they were not reading inaccurately. The director advised that she did not have another thermometer. One staff did not complete the Department approved five-hour early literacy and language development course for child care personnel within 12 months of date of employment in child care industry. "4.2.2 Early Literacy Training Pursuant to Section 402.305(2)(e)5., F.S., all child care personnel must complete a single course of training in early literacy and language development of children ages birth through five years that is a minimum of five clock hours or .5 CEUs. 35-10 · Communicable Disease Control
Child Care Regulation arrived for a routine inspection and found that the facility was closed. Child Care Regulation called the facility owner and was informed that the facility was closed for repairs and that two teachers had tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday, February 20, 2023. Child Care Regulation asked if the parents of all children enrolled had been notified and was informed that they had all been notified. Child Care Regulation asked if the Health Department had been notified and was informed that the Health Department had not been notified. "6.1.2, B. A suspected outbreak occurs when two or more children or child care personnel have the onset of similar signs or symptoms within a 72-hour period or when a case of a serious or reportable communicable disease is diagnosed or suspected in a child or employee. Some examples include shigella, salmonella, chicken pox, measles, pertussis, and hand, foot and mouth disease. Contact your local health department for a determination of whether reporting is required." In addition to the requirement stated above, Child Care Regulation has provided technical assistance regarding the requirement to report for Covid-19 to the Health Department and all parents if one child or adult or more has tested positive for Covid-19 and to notify Child Care Regulation once this is done.
