In the infant and one-year-old room, the cabinet under the bathroom sink contained cleaning chemicals (liquid laundry detergent and soap) that was unlocked and accessible to children. This inspection occurred during naptime. While inspecting the toddler classroom, the licensing specialist observed a child sleeping on their mat that was closer than 18 inches to two other children's mats. The licensing specialist notified the teacher who then moved the children further apart, putting this standard back into compliance. The Child Care Handbook states: 3.6.2 Nap/Sleep Space C. A minimum of 18 inches must be maintained around individual napping and sleeping spaces. A maximum of two sides of a napping or sleeping space may be against a solid barrier, such as the wall. This facility did not have a transportation log available for the licensing specialist to review. The Child Care Facility Handbook states: 2.5.2 Transportation Log A. A log must be maintained for all children being transported in a vehicle or on foot away from and/or to the premises of the child care facility. The log must be retained on file at the facility for a minimum of 12 months and available for review by the licensing authority. The log must include: 1. Each childs name, 2. The date and time of departure, 3. Time of arrival at the destination, 4. The signature of the driver (or in the case of travelling on foot, the signature of the child care personnel), and 5.
