22-01 · Outdoor Equipment Group: Sec. 7-37, Ordinance and DCF Handbook

Complaint alleges that on 10/25/25 at 11:48am, personal vehicle was parked on the street and wind picked up the provider's "tent" from the playground. It was flipped over the fence, caught in the powerlines and did damage to complainant's car. Complainant states "tent" was not properly secured and program initially admitted and accepted responsibility as the "tent" is required per licensing requirements. Following the incident, "tent" was observed returned to the playground "broken and falling apart." FINDINGS: A complaint inspection was conducted on 12/2/2025 and a statement from the school administrator was received. Per the school administrator, that incident occurred a couple months ago. There was a storm and a whirlwind pulled the tent up and over the fence and caused some damage to a neighbor's car. The tent was checked and it had some tears on the top cover and was unstable. The tent would dance/move when pushed lightly. The poles would come up without trouble even though there were stakes holding it down. TA was provided that the tent must be securely anchored. This complaint is substantiated
