23-06 · Fire Drills
Day 1, RSPM Jalaber observed that the last fire drills were conducted 12/6 and 12/28 and there was no drill listed for January 2024. Technical Assistance: During the facilitys license year, fire drills utilizing the alarm system, approved by the local fire authority, must be conducted monthly at various dates and times when children are in care. Corrective action. Day 2, Director advised, that the January 2024 fire drill was missed, but a fire drill was conducted 2/16/24. Copy of fire drill log observed at the time of inspection

33-03 · Training Requirements
Staff listed on the supplemental did not initiate 40hr training within 90 days of hire. Technical Assistance: Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the childcare industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a Department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a Department-approved training course, beginning a Department-approved online child care training course, or by receiving results from a Department-approved competency examination.
