    33-06 · Training Requirements

    During the on-site inspection, counselor observed that not all staff had completed early literacy training within 12 months of employment in the childcare industry. T/A: Early Literacy Training Pursuant to Section 402.305(2)(e)5., F.S., all child care personnel must complete a single course of training in early literacy and language development of children ages birth through five years that is a minimum of five clock hours or .5 CEUs. Early literacy training must be completed within 12 months of date of employment in the child care industry. Proof of completion may be documented on a certificate of course completion, classroom transcript, or diploma. Child care personnel must complete one of the following: One of the Departments online literacy courses available on the Departments website. One of the Departments approved literacy courses. A list of these courses can be obtained from the Departments website. (No additional courses will be approved by the Department.) One college level early literacy course (for credit or non-credit) if taken within the last five years. Provider will have staff member complete literacy training

    During the on-site file review, counselor observed that a new staff member did not have complete personnel file on site for review. T/A: Personnel Records Records must be maintained and kept current on all child care personnel, as defined by Section 402.302(3), F.S. These records shall be on-site, available for review by the licensing authority and must include: A complete employment application with the required statement pursuant to Section 402.3055(1)(b), F.S. Documentation of position and date of employment. CF-FSP Form 5337, Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Requirements, which is incorporated by reference in 65C-22.001(7)(l), F.A.C., must be signed on or before Child Care Facility Handbook Page | 62 hire date and annually thereafter by all child care personnel. Copies of training information and credentials as applicable. For the driver only: Florida drivers license and driver physical examination documentation. A copy of the drivers license and the physician certification, or another form containing the same elements of the physician certification, granting medical approval to operate the vehicle, and valid certificate(s) of course completion for first aid training, pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) procedures, and background screening must also be maintained in the drivers personnel file. corrected - Provider submitted a complete personnel file for staff listed on the supplemental, before the inspection report was uploaded.
