Arrived at the FCCH at approximately 10:17 A.M. During the walk through of the FCCH, observed 3 children ( T.O., C. H. and J.B ) in a closed closet located in the 1-2 year old day care room .( Time 10:32 A.M.) The children were ages 3/4. Per the Operator, she had no knowledge that the children were in the closet. She also stated that the children were supposed to be dismissed from the FCCH at 10:00am. Observed an uncapped protruding electrical outlet accessible to the children in the closet. Spoke to the staff L.G, who stated that she took all the children to the restroom which is located in the 1/2 year old room. During the transition, back to the classroom she did not realize the children were in the closet of the 1/2 year old room. Arrived at the Large Family Child Care Home at 10:17 A.M. During the walk through of the FCCH observed 17 children and 3 staff present. (6 children in the 1/2 year old room, 3 children in the closet and 8 children in the 3/4 year old room.) The license posted states that the LFCCH is licensed for 12 children. Per the Operator, she was not aware that 17 children were present. She was in her bedroom, because she was not feeling well due to a recent surgery. She also stated that sometimes during transition time if the children were not dismissed on time, she sits on the porch with the children until they are picked up. The Operator also stated that the VPK Children are supposed to be dismissed by 10:00 A.M. Spoke to L.G, who stated that she could not remember how many children were present in her room.
