12-02 · Technical assistance was provided to the Provider that children are much more susceptible to the adverse effects of environmental factors, materials and toxicants. It is imperative that the child care environment is conducive to the healthy development of children. All child care facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor and outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety. Animals must be properly vaccinated, free from disease, and clean. Animals that are poisonous and/ or aggressive in nature are prohibited. Strangulation hazards strings and cords long enough to encircle a child neck such as those on toys and window coverings must not be accessible to children in care. Pest control must not take place while rooms are occupied by children

Counselor found that there was chipped painted throughout classroom # 3, # 4, # 5, # 8, and # 9 that need to be painted. Counselor found brown shelves that have chipped paint in classroom # 7 and # 8 that need to be repainted. Counselor found that classroom # 4 had holes in the wall by the sink and classroom # 3 had a hole in the wall in the bathroom by the toilet paper holder. The wall and shelves should be repainted. The holes should be repaired

31-03 · Technical assistance was provided to the Provider that the equipment, materials, furnishings, and play areas should be sturdy, safe, in good repair. A Child Care Facility must make available toys, equipment, and furnishings suitable to each childs age and development and of a quantity for each to be involved in activities. Toys, equipment, and furnishings must be safe and maintained in a sanitary condition following a routine schedule of cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting

Counselor found the toy kitchen in classroom # 1, # 4, # 7, # 8 had chipped wood that could be a harm to children's fingers when touched. Counselor found that the toy kitchen in classroom # 8 is missing a sink handle. Counselor found a crack in the toy kitchen sink in classroom # 7. The toy kitchen should be repaired
