During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed on the playground the mulch under the fall zones were not 6 feet out and 6 inches in depth. The licensing specialist observed right next to the red car the specialist observed that the ground was able to be seen(0inches). Around the red and blue helicopter the licensing specialist observed right next to the helicopter the mulch was measuring 4 inches in depth. Four feet from the red and blue helicopter you were able to see the ground(0 inches in depth). Around the jungle gym up by the climber(left side of Jungle gym when looking at it from the front) the mulch was measuring 4 inches in depth, at 3 feet 3 inches the mulch was measuring at 2.5 inches, at 5 feet 8 inches the mulch was measuring at 1 inch. On the back side of the jungle gym at 2 feet 8 inches by the climber the mulch was measuring 1 inches in depth. On the other side of the jungle gym up by the climber(Right side of Jungle gym when looking at it from the front) at 3 feet 7 inches the mulch was measuring 1.5 inches in depth. The director was given until February 9, 2025, to come into compliance with this standard. The holes were observed to be jagged; however, none were observed to be where a child would likely put a finger in them. Likewise, Licensing Specialist observed paint chipping with rough edges, none where a child would likely scratch themselves. There is a low potential for harm, as a child may reach around a bar and come into contact with a hole or chipped paint spot. During the inspection, the one year old went inside with the four year olds and five year olds, making the ratios 1:6 (1 one year olds, four year olds and five year olds) and 1:14 (two year olds and three year olds, majority three year olds). During the inspection, Child Care Regulation observed that the facility did not maintain the mulch, in that the mulch depth measured less than one inch in depth. The facility will have six inches of a resilient surface no later than September 22, 2023. Child Care Regulation will return after this date to check for compliance

Child Care Regulation observed cleaning supplies stored on the counter in the bathroom in the corner nearest the VPK classroom. "B. All potentially harmful items, including cleaning supplies, flammable products, poisonous, toxic, and hazardous materials, must be labeled and used according to manufacturers recommendation. These items, as well as knives, sharp tools, and other potentially dangerous hazards, must be stored in a locked area or must be inaccessible and out of a childs reach at all times." A staff person moved the cleaning supplies out of access to children; thus, returning this standard to compliance at the time of this inspection
