During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed that the program's vehicle insurance documentation was not available for viewing. 17-01 · Technical assistance was provided as there were several boards at the time of this inspection that are in poor condition and will likely become cracked enough to require replacement. Licensing Specialist observed a bolt with a sharp disk and four nails sticking out of the fence, posing a low potential for harm to children. "3.5, A. 33-06 · Training Requirements
Licensing Specialist observed that one staff did not complete the required five-hour early literacy and language development course within the allotted time frame. "4.2.2 Early Literacy Training Pursuant to Section 402.305(2)(e)5., F.S., all child care personnel must complete a single course of training in early literacy and language development of children ages birth through five years that is a minimum of five clock hours or .5 CEUs. Early literacy training must be completed within 12 months of date of employment in the child care industry. Proof of completion may be documented on a certificate of course completion, classroom transcript, or diploma. Child care personnel must complete one of the following: A. One of the Departments online literacy courses available on the Departments website. B. One of the Departments approved literacy courses. A list of these courses can be obtained from the Departments website. (No additional courses will be approved by the Department.) C. One college level early literacy course (for credit or non-credit) if taken within the last five years." "4.5, C. Early literacy courses and school-age training documentation must be uploaded into the Florida Pathways (Registry), which may be accessed from the Departments website at www.myflfamilies.com/childcare." 46-02 · Daily Attendance
Licensing Specialist observed that the attendance log in the three- and four-year-old classroom was missing the arrival time for one child. The staff were unaware of the number of children in the classroom. "7.5 Daily Attendance Daily attendance of children must be taken and recorded accurately by the child care personnel, documenting the time when each child enters and departs the program. A. Attendance devices used for the purposes of tracking attendance may be used, but personnel must ensure the accuracy of the documented attendance. Each classroom must have an attendance sheet/class roster for the group of children occupying that space. Attendance sheet/class roster must accompany the child care personnel and the group of children throughout the day should they leave the classroom. B. The custodial parent or guardian may document the time when his/her child enters and departs the child care facility or program. However, child care facility personnel are responsible for ensuring that attendance records are complete and accurate. C. REMOVED. D. Attendance records must be maintained for a minimum of 12 months. E. Attendance records for Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten or School Readiness may be used, if applicable." For children 3 years of age or older, but under 4 years of age, there must be one child care personnel for every 15 children. 5. For children 5 years of age or older, there must be one child care personnel for every 25 children. 7.
