The staff member did not contact emergency services in regard to an infant after hearing a pop in the child's leg after the child slipped in the staff member's lap while feeding the child. The child was later determined to have a leg fracture

39-07 · Accident/ Incident Notification and Documentation

A serious injury to a child in care was not immediately reported to the licensing authority by the facility. The facility did notify the licensing counselor the day after the injury to the child occurred, therefore this standard is being marked completed at the time of inspection. Section 6.4, letter E. of CCF Handbook reads, "In the event of serious injury or death, the incident must immediately be reported to the licensing authority." Section 1.2, page 8, of the CCF Handbook is where the definition of immediate can be found, which reads, "Immediate means occurring, acting, or accomplished without loss or interval of time." Technical asssitance is being given to the provider at this time
