25-07 · Meals and Snacks
At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed a few small refrigerator/freezer combos located in the classroom with a thermometer showing a temperature reading greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. In the infants classroom the thermometer read at 49 degrees Fahrenheit. The upstairs three year old classroom the thermometer read at 51 degrees Fahrenheit and the back three year old classroom in the second building the thermometer read at 45 degrees Fahrenheit. The specialist and provider moved the thermometers to the back of the refrigerator in each classroom then checked them again and the thermometers did not change. The specialist noticed that some of the refrigerators temperature settings were set too high. The provider adjusted the temperature and also replaced the thermometers with new thermometers at time of inspection. All refrigerators were checked again and measured to below 41 degrees Fahrenheit. TA was provided to ensure that the thermometer showing a temperature reading no greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit

At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed the diapering procedures not posted in the infants classroom. The provider immediately posted up the procedures at time of inspection. TA was provided to ensure that the diapering procedures are posted near diapering stations at all times where diapering takes place

At the time of inspection, the Licensing specialist observed the resilient surface of mulch on the providers playgrounds near the stationary equipment did not measure to 6 inches in depth and 6 feet in perimeter. Specifically, on the older childrens playground near the swing set measured to 4 inches in depth. On the younger childrens playground near the swing set mulch measured to 4 inches as well as near the stationary yellow and black tractor and the green and red stairs and slide. The provider and specialist discussed adding barriers around the equipment to in close the mulch near stationary equipment. At time of inspection, the provider immediately raked mulch towards the equipment to reach 6 inches in depth and 6 feet in perimeter. TA was provided to ensure that the resilient surface near stationary equipment measures to 6 inches in depth and 6 feet in perimeter

At time of inspection, the Licensing specialist determined that the child care personnel listed on the supplemental did not complete the required DCF training course 5-hour Literacy within 12 months of working in the industry. The staff started in the industry on 4/28/2024 but did not start 5-hour Literacy course until 5/26/2025 and has still not completed the course. 23-02 · Technical assistance was given to the provider as a reminder that an approved fire inspection must be completed on or before the prior year's date. The last fire drill was conducted on 12/20/23 and an emergency preparedness drill was conducted on 10/12/23 (weather). No lockdown drill has been conducted yet this licensing year. The provider was reminded to conduct a lockdown drill prior to the licensing expiring. The fire extinguisher(s) were last tagged in May 2023. A fire drill was conducted on today's date with the CCR counselor present
