Unless statutorily exempted, all school-age child care programs must conform to state standards adopted by the State Fire Marshal, Chapter 69A-36, F.A.C., Uniform Fire Safety Standards for Nonresidential Child Care Facilities, and must be inspected annually. Child care personnel, including volunteers that work 10 hours or more per month, must successfully complete 40 hours of child care training as evidenced by successful completion of competency examinations offered by the Department or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. A. Part I Courses (28 hours) School-Age child care personnel must complete all of the following: Child Care Facility Rules and Regulation (6 hours); Health, Safety, and Nutrition (8 hours); Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (4 hours); Understanding Developmentally Appropriate Practices (5 hours) School Age-Appropriate Practices (5 hours) B.
