    03-01 · Ratio Sufficient

    Upon arrival to the center, FSC took ratio of each classrooms. As FSC continued the inspection and reviewed attendance logs, FSC observed 5 children in the attendance log in the infant and 1-year old classroom. FSC asked teacher regarding the 5th child marked as present, but not physically in the classroom. She stated the child was in another classroom. Director confirmed the child was in the 2-year old classroom, which had 1 staff with 8 children. Ratio at Time of Arrival: Infants and 1-Year Old - 1:4 1-Year and 2-Years - 1:8 3-Years Old - 1:9 VPK - 1:8 Corrected Ratio: Infants and 1-Year Old - 1:4 1-Year and 2-Years Old - 2:8 3-Years Old - 1:9 VPK - 1:8 Per provider, a staff that goes in at 11:00 am arrived at the facility. The staff were re-arranged, and all classrooms returned to compliance at time of inspection

A copy of the current and approved annual fire inspection report completed by a certified fire inspector must be on file with the licensing authority. If the program is granted a fire inspection exemption by the local fire inspection office, the exemption must be documented and maintained on file at the program.     33-03 · Technical assistance was provided that child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child care industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a Department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a Department-approved training course, beginning a Department-approved online child care training course, or by receiving results from a Department-approved competency examination. The child care program is responsible for obtaining training documentation from child care personnel. Child care personnel must successfully complete 40 hours of child care training as evidenced by successful completion of competency examinations offered by the Department or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. Child care personnel who successfully completed the mandatory 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training prior to January 1, 2004 are not required to fulfill the competency examination requirement. A.
