03-01 · Technical assistance was provided that the staff-to-child ratio, as established in Section 402.305(4), F.S., is based on primary responsibility for the direct supervision of children and applies at all times while children are in care. 2.3.1 Mixed Age Groups A. In groups of mixed age ranges, where children under one year of age are included, one child care personnel must be responsible for no more than four children of any age group, at all times. B. In groups of mixed age ranges, where children one year of age but under two years of age are included, one child care personnel must be responsible for no more than six children of any age group, at all times. In infants classroom, director sent kitchen staff to meet ratio requirements. FSC let provider know that that staff must begin training within 90 days as today is her first day as child care personnel. Classroom returned to compliance at time of inspection. One 1-year old child from the mixed 1-year and 2-years old classroom was picked up by parent, leaving a total of 20 children in the classroom, of which 9 are 1-year old. Director moved eight 2-years old children to a separate classroom that was empty at time of arrival and she stayed with the children to meet ratio requirement in that classroom. The 1-year old and 2-years old classroom stayed with 2 staff and 12 children, of which nine are 1-year old and three are 2-years old. Classroom returned to compliance at time of inspection. Upon arrival to the facility, licensing specialist knocked on the door various times and called the facility various times during 14 minute period. Director then opened the door and she stated that she was at the kitchen. Licensing specialist proceeded to count ratios and found 2 classrooms out of ratio. Director stated that she was part of infants classroom staff, however she was out of the classroom at time of licensing specialist arrival. Also 2-years old classroom had 10 one-year old children in the classroom. Ratio at Time of Arrival: Infants - 1:6 One-Year Old Classroom - 1:6 One-Year Old and 2-Years Old Classroom - 2:21 3-Years Old Classroom - 2:24 VPK - 1:16
