FSC Zykharia was looking in the closet and noticed cleaning solution on the bottom shelf accessible to the children. TA was given to the provider referencing the FDCH/LFCCH Handbook. 7.2 Toxic Substances, Hazardous Materials and Poisonous Items A. All areas and surfaces accessible to children shall be free from toxic substances and hazardous materials/equipment/tools, including power tools, plastic bags, matches, candles, lighters, etc. These items, as well as knives, sharp tools, BB guns, pellet guns and other potentially dangerous hazards, shall either be stored and in a locked area or must be inaccessible and out of a childs reach. B. All potentially harmful items including cleaning supplies, flammable products, poisonous, toxic, and hazardous materials must be labeled and used according to manufacturers recommendation. C. Narcotics, alcohol, or other impairing drugs/paraphernalia must be kept inaccessible to children at all times. D. Cleaning must not take place while rooms are occupied by children except for general clean-up activities that are part of the daily routine. General cleaning refers to cleaning necessary to maintain a sanitary environment but that does not pose a hazard to children, such as wiping the table after lunch, soaking toys in a tub on the countertop, sweeping. This does not include cleaning with hazardous materials or any cleaning which poses a risk of slipping or falling
