11-03 · Child Discipline
FSC Observed in the video shown by Owner: Adults and children were walking into the classroom. One child (female) was trying to leave the classroom and the teacher locked the door so the child wouldn't leave the classroom unattended. This made the child upset and the child threw a tantrum by grabbing/pushing the cart and by quick reaction the teacher moved the cart away and the child attempted to grab the teacher but then the teacher grabbed the child hands to refrain it. Shortly after the child grabbed and threw the water bottles from the counter. The teacher quickly grabbed the child by her left and right wrists in an upward position and swiftly swung her from the classroom door to the other side of the classroom. RESOLVED: As of 4/13/2023 the child is no longer attending KLA School of West Kendall. As of 4/11/2023 the teacher resigned because she is moving out of the area and then on 4/13/2023 decided to leave KLA school of West Kendall that same day. -------------------------------------- Section 2.8, F.1.(e) The following discipline techniques shall be prohibited in the child care facility: The use of corporal punishment/including, but not limited to: 1.
