On 02/16/24 while at daycare a child was sitting in his highchair and next to him was a crock pot with boiling water on the counter. He pulled a towel down which was holding a crockpot full of boiling hot water. It fell on him. He was air flown to Arnold palmer ER. and then transferred to Shand's hospital. He has 25% of his body burnt which includes his legs, his torso and upper extremities. They are 3rd degree burns

As a mandated reporter, the owner, operator, employee, volunteer or substitute failed to report suspected child abuse or neglect as required in section 39.201, Florida Statutes. The Director reported that she did not call the Florida Abuse hotline to report this incident . The Director reported that she allegedly asked Law Enforcement if she should call the Florida Abuse Hotline regarding this incident. The Director reported to counselor that Law enforcement told her that there was no need for her to call when Law enforcement would be reporting the incident to the Florida abuse Hotline. Counselor informed the Director that at any time that there is a significant injury to a child that it is mandated that it be reported to the Florida Abuse Hotline
