32-07 · Outdoor Equipment
During the time of the inspection the Licensing Specialist observed that the mulch was less then 6 inches under the red double slides on the preschool playground. The mulch in the fall zone measured to be between 1 and 2 inches deep. Per the DCF Handbook Permanent or stationary playground equipment must have a fall/use zone that extends a minimum of 6 feet in all directions from the perimeter of the equipment. All types of ground cover must be maintained to provide resilience and reduce the incidence of injuries to children in the event of falls. 1. If the ground cover in place is loose ground cover (such as, but not limited to: mulch, shredded rubber chips, or sand) a minimum of 6 inches in depth is required in the use zone. Asphalt, concrete, hard packed dirt, hay, grass or leaves are unsuitable for use in the use zone area

This was corrected at the time of the inspection as the staff member signed a Child Abuse and Reporting form dated 10/23/24. Per the DCF Handbook C. CF-FSP Form 5337, Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Requirements, which is incorporated by reference in 65C-22.001(7)(l), F.A.C., must be signed on or before hire date and annually thereafter by all child care personnel

24-02 · Food Preparation Area
During the time of the inspection the Child Care Licensing Specialist observed the Infant classroom sink to be used as a handwashing sink and a food prep sink. The sink is located across from the changing table. The sink had bottles and sippy cups located around it and 3 baby spoons inside of it. The Facility will need to use a sink for handwashing and use another sink for the food prepping for the Infants. Technical Assistants was provided by the Child Care Licensing Specialist. Per the DCF Handbook 3.9.1 Food Preparation Area A food preparation area is a designated room, such as a kitchen, or a designated space in a facility not normally used or accessible to the children in daily operations for indoor play, classroom, work or nap spaces, and not included when calculating usable indoor floor space

During the time of the inspection the Child Care Licensing Specialist observe 1 bottle in the Infant room and 1 sippy cup in the One's room not labeled with each child's first and last name. This was corrected at the time of the inspection as the teacher in both classrooms labeled the bottle and the sippy cup. Per the DCF Handbook Bottles and sippy cups brought from home shall be individually labeled with the childs first and last name and shall be returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian daily
