33-03 · Training Requirements
During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored the training transcript for the child care personnel and observed that one of the personnel has not begun/completed the introductory training. According to the CCF Handbook, Section 4.1 4.1 Beginning Training Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child care industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a Department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a Department-approved training course, beginning a Department-approved online child care training course, or by receiving results from a Department-approved competency examination. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored the background screening for the childcare personnel and observed that one of the personnel has left employment and childcare industry for more than 90. Upon rehiring the fingerprints were not submitted. During the time of the inspection, the Director went into the clearinghouse and resubmitted the fingerprints. According the CCF Handbook, Section 5.2 Re-Screening C. Child care personnel must be re-screened following a break in employment in the child care industry that exceeds 90 days. 20-06 · Crib Requirements
During the time of the inspection, the infants were taking a nap. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that children were place in the crib with blankets and pacifier straps. The Licensing Specialist immediately advised the teacher to remove all items; The teacher removed the blankets and pacifier straps out of the crib. • During the inspection, CCR observed that one of the drivers does not have CPR/First Aid and one driver does not have a physical also all the drivers need the transportation training. 17-07 · Outdoor Play Area/Fencing
During the inspection, CCR observed the fence on playground 2 on the fence closet to the road closer to the front of the fence had a gap of more than 3 1/2 inches. The director was given until August 14, 2023, to come into compliance with this standard. During the inspection, CCR provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 3.5 F- Outdoor Play Area. F. The outdoor play area must have adequate fencing or walls a minimum of 4 feet in height. Fencing, including gates, must be continuous and must not have gaps or opening larger than 3 inches that would allow children to exit the outdoor play area. The base of the fence must remain at ground level and be free from erosion or buildup to prevent inside and outside access by children or animals. These areas must have at least two exits, with at least one being remote from the buildings. If an outdoor play area was approved for usage by the Department prior to October 25, 2017, no new exits are required to be added to meet this standard. During the inspection, the director advised that there are currently 19 employees. During the inspection, CCR observed 19 of 19 employee records. When the CCR was reviewing the files the CCR seen 2 personnel did not finish their 5 hours Early Literacy training. The director was given until August 14, 2023, to come into compliance with this standard. During the inspection, CCR provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 4.2.2 Early Literacy Training Pursuant to Section 402.305(2)(e)5., F.S., all childcare personnel must complete a single course of training in early literacy and language development of children ages birth through five years that is a minimum of five clock hours or .5 CEUs. Early literacy training must be completed within 12 months of date of employment in the childcare industry. Proof of completion may be documented on a certificate of course completion, classroom transcript, or diploma. Childcare personnel must complete one of the following: A.
