• The facility did not have documentation of an annual vehicle inspection for a vehicle used to transport children in care. CCF Handbook, Section 2.5.4, A (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) The director did not have a current annual vehicle inspection for a vehicle used for transportation. The Licensing Specialist (LS) provided technical assistance from the handbook 2.5.4 Vehicle Requirements For the purpose of this section, vehicles refer to those owned, operated or regularly used by the child care program, and vehicles that provide transportation through a contract or agreement with an outside entity. Parents/guardians personal vehicles used for transporting during field trips are excluded from meeting the requirements of this sub-section. A. All vehicles regularly used to transport children must be inspected annually by a mechanic to ensure that they are in proper working order. A child left the facility while the class was in line to enter the building from outdoor playtime. The child got away due to the opening between the gate and entrance, walked nearly 2 miles from the facility, and was missing for an hour and a half. The Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance explaining the importance of counting the children when going outside and immediately after coming inside

24-17 · Food Preparation Area
The Kitchen area had Food Container on the Floor (picture were taking) licesnce counselor provided technical assistance they could put food containers. in plastic container or cardboard Handbook 3.9.2 Food Storage Proper storage of food is essential to prevent food contamination, as well as, insect and rodent infestation. Correct handling and storage of all food is a key component in preventing food-borne illnesses. To prevent bacteria growth, cold food must be kept at or below 41 degrees Fahrenheit and hot foods at or above 135 degrees Fahrenheit. Facilities choosing to prepare food must have a designated space for food storage within the designated food preparation area or in a room not calculated as part of indoor floor space, and in an area not used for diapering. Off-site food storage is permissible only if the site of storage is a licensed child care facility under the same ownership that includes a food preparation area that meets licensing standards. A. Food containers, such as cans, plastic containers, boxes and bags must be stored above the floor on clean surfaces protected from splash and other contamination
