A complaint allegation was received alleging that a staff member was loud and aggressive and insisted that the school policy was that mom has to call to release a child to the aunt even if the aunt is on the pick up form. The aunt said a cultural phrase in creole that translates to the children shouldnt be being watched by the pigs. One of the creole speaking children overheard this and told the teacher the aunt had called the teacher a pig. At this point the staff member in the hall charged toward the aunt who was now holding her baby niece to leave. the caller reports that the staff member got in her face and started yelling curse words and threats of physical harm. The other teacher that was sitting at the desk in the hall then jumped up and got between them and told the aunt to go (leave). the staff member continued to yell and swear at the aunt. the staff member said IDGAF who you call. Both staff members began yelling and swearing at the aunt. Yelling, threatening physical harm, and swearing. Caller also states the children using the hall as a classroom heard the screaming, yelling, threatening, and swearing, this all happened in front of them and the baby that was in her hands. FINDINGS: A complaint inspection was conducted on 3/6/2026 and statements were received from the teachers (Ms.S.S. and Ms. T.T., Ms. L.S.M.) Full statements contained in the complaint form. Per Ms. S.S., the childs aunt came in behind another parent and she didnt see her. Normally, she asks for I.D. If she doesnt know who the individual picking up is. In this instance, the childs parent didnt call to notify the school that another individual would be picking up, and the schools policy is that the parent has to call before sending someone to pick up the child. Ms. S.S. asked for an I.D. and the aunt seemed upset and started giving her an attitude. She also seemed upset because she saw the cut on the childs hand was small and didnt believe it warranted a speedy pickup of the child. The conversation escalated when Ms.S.S. heard the mom speaking creole with the toddler teacher. She heard the word /kochon/ and believed that the aunt was calling her a pig. Some words were said between the two as the aunt was walking toward the exit door. She did say some offensive words in response to the aunt offending her first. Per Ms. T.T., the aunt and Ms. S.S. were going back and forth in the hallway and near the double doors in the lobby. The argument started in the hallway and went into the lobby where she separated them. She had to step in between them, move Ms.S.S. back away from the lobby area, and into the hallway. Then, the aunt started yelling at Ms. T.T. until she got her to leave and close the door. Profanity was used by the staff member and aunt. I asked Ms. S.S. if the children were in the hallway during the altercation to which she replied that the children were in the hallway because she had to take parent payments. She stated that she cursed at the aunt when they were already by the exit door so it wasnt in front of the children. After reviewing all statements, I determined that the exit door is close to the hallway and the children did witness the altercation. After the incident, Ms. S.S. stated that the children came up to her to make sure she was okay or to give her a hug. Ms.T.T. also stated that the children were there and could hear the argument, as well as the child being picked up, Z. because she was in the aunts arms. This complaint is substantiated and a non-compliance is being issued as the use of derogatory remarks and profane language was used in front of the children. TA was provided on refraining from using such language and calling emergency services if an individual must be removed from the premises
