The director brought this standard back in compliance by finding the child and bringing him back into the classroom. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that in the Older Two's Classroom had a blue chair ripped and showing foam, and the Bridge Classroom had a red chair showing foam. This standard was brought back into compliance at the time of the inspection in that the Director removed them from the classroom. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, A: All childcare facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety. Any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children

During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that Ventilation Systems throughout the facility were not maintained. The Director was given until April 14, 2025 to come into compliance with this standard. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, B: It is the responsibility of the director/operator to ensure all areas and equipment of the facility are free from fire hazards, such as lint build up in heating and air vents, filters, exhaust fans, ceiling fans, and dryer vents. 33-09 · Training Requirements
During the time of inspection, the Director advised the Licensing Specialist that there are 25 employees. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored 25 of the 25 employee records. REMINDER: In-service training for 2024/2025 fiscal year must be completed before July 1, 2025. Counselor reviewed 10 hours of annual in-service, completed, for all childcare personnel for the 2024/2025 fiscal year. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that one of the personnel did not complete the Safe Sleep Training within 30 days of employment. The Director was given until April 14, 2025 to come into compliance. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance. CCF Handbook, Section 4.2.3: All child care personnel who work in a facility that offers care to infants must have training regarding guidance on safe sleep practices, preventing shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma; recognition of signs and symptoms of shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma; strategies for coping with crying, fussing, or distraught child and the development and vulnerabilities of the brain in infancy in early childhood within 30 days of hire at the facility. For childcare personnel to satisfy this requirement the training must be accomplished through one of following methods: Department's Health Safety and Nutrition course, Safe Sleep course, or the Early Learning Floridas Safe Sleep Practices. During the investigation the teacher DM, stated she did not know AM, HM, GM and SE were playing doctor. The teacher, DM, stated she could not see AM, HM, and GM because they were behind the blue couch. Teacher DM stated, " SE, child, was not involved. I, teacher DM, asked the children and they, children, did not say SE, child, was involved. SE, child, did not tell me she, SE child, was involved. SE, child, was standing in the library staring at AM, HM and GM. During the investigation, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 2.4.1, B General Supervision Requirements B. Child care personnel must be assigned to provide direct supervision to a specific group of children and be with that group of children at all times. 33-3: During the inspection, Child Care Regulation observed 1 child care personnel (child care industry start date 1/18/2023) that did not start the DCF 40 hours of introductory training within 90 days of their child care industry start date. During the inspection, Child Care Regulation provided technical assistance, Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins.
