During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed paint peeling on the wall by the bathroom door and the window in the toddlers room. In classroom P1 the a small portion of carpet is coming up and there is string exposed by the exit door. The director was given until April 14, 2025, to come into compliance with this standard. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 3.1 A.- General Health and Safety Requirements. A. All child care facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety. Any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children. Documentation of the indoor play area inspection must be maintained for 12 months

During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed a buildup of dust on the vents in the P3/P2 bathroom. The director brought this standard back in compliance at the time of inspection by cleaning the vents. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 3.1 B.- General Health and Safety Requirements. B. It is the responsibility of the director/operator to ensure all areas and equipment of the facility are free from fire hazards, such as lint build up in heating and air vents, filters, exhaust fans, ceiling fans, and dryer vents. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed a power strip that was on the right side of the computer 3 outlets did not have outlet covers. The director brought this standard back in compliance at the time of inspection by adding outlet covers to the power strip. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 3.1, I.- General Health and Safety Requirements. - I. All accessible electrical outlets must be tamper-resistant electrical outlets that contain internal shutter mechanisms to prevent children from sticking objects into receptacles. In settings that do not have tamper-resistant electrical outlets, outlets shall have safety covers

18-06 · Bedding and Linens
During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed in the VPK, P3 and Preschool 3 classrooms the mats were peeling. The owner stated she has cots ordered but the cots are on back order. Since the order is on back order the specialist is giving them extra time to bring this into compliance. The director was given until May 14, 2025, to come into compliance with this standard. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 3.6.1,D- Bedding and Linens. Each child in care must be provided safe and sanitary bedding to be used when napping or sleeping. Nap bedding is not required for school-age children; however, the program must provide an area for children that choose to rest. D. Floor mats must be at least one-inch thick and covered with an impermeable surface

25-2: During the inspection, Child Care Regulation observed that the one year olds food was not cut into 0.5 inches, in that the cheese quesadilla was not cut into 0.5 inch pieces. During the inspection, the food was cut. This is being marked corrected at the time of the inspection. During the inspection, Child Care Regulation provided technical assistance, Foods that are associated with young childrens choking incidents must not be served to children under 4 years of age, such as, but not limited to, whole/round hot dogs, popcorn, chips, pretzel nuggets, whole grapes, nuts, cheese cubes/sticks and any food that is of similar shape and size of the trachea/windpipe. Food for infants must be cut into pieces inch or smaller, food for toddlers must be cut into pieces inch or smaller to prevent choking. This applies to all food, even food provided by parents/guardians

07-06 · Vehicle Requirements
During the inspection, the director advised that currently there is one transportation vehicle GMC Sedona (56552) that was last inspected on 2/7/2023 and is insured through Philadelphia Indemnity insurance with an effective date of 3/17/2023. 7-6: During the inspection, Child Care Regulation observed that the GMC Sedona (56552) vehicle was not operational , in that the vehicle alarm did not go off within 60 seconds of turning off the ignition. During the inspection, Child Care Regulation provided technical assistance, F. By January 1, 2022 all vehicles used by child care facilities to transport children must be equipped with a reliable alarm system approved by the Department which prompts the driver to inspect the vehicle for children before exiting the vehicle. 1. Approved alarm systems must meet the following criteria: a. The alarm system must be armed or activated automatically when the vehicles ignition is turned on. b. The alarm system must be designed and installed so that the vehicle horn, siren or other type of audio alarm will sound if the driver/staff member does not walk to the rear or, in the case of a passenger van, the side entry point of the vehicle, to manually shut off or deactivate the alarm. c. The time delay from the time the ignition is turned off after activation of the alarm system until the alarm sounds shall be no longer than one minute. d. The alarm must be audible from the distance of 500 feet from the vehicle. e. The alarm system must be installed so that the driver must walk to the back of the vehicle to reach the deactivation mechanism. Deactivation mechanisms installed in locations that do not require the driver to walk to the back of the vehicle and view all seating areas will not be acceptable. 2. List of approved alarm manufacturers may be found on the Departments website at www.myflfamilies.com/childcare. 3. Alarms must be installed and maintained according to the manufacturers recommendations. 4. Alarm systems installed according to the manufacturers instructions prior to October 1, 2021, will be deemed to satisfy this requirement if they meet the criteria set forth in 2.5.4.F.1. above. Under this allowance, the existing alarm system must always be properly maintained in working order. Should at any time the alarm system require replacement, the new system must be selected from the Departments approved list referenced in 2.5.4 F.2. above
