During ratio count, CCRC saw a closet (in one of the 4's classrooms) that was unlocked with access to cleaning supplies on the floor of the closet. Classroom was empty and the class was outside, CCRC closed the door of the closet after seeing the cleaning supplies on the floor. I went back around to check the room again and it was unlocked and cracked open, CCRC gave the teacher TA to make sure the door remains closed and locked when children are present in the classroom and it was corrected at time of inspection. 24-09 · Food Preparation Area
CCRC observed that all of the classrooms (besides the infant room) had no running hot water, including the bathrooms the children use, the bathrooms the child care personnel use, one handwashing sink in the kitchen. CCRC did call a supervisor/manager to verify that it had to be hot water and got confirmation of the classification/cite. CCRC spoke with director after confirming with my supervisor of my findings, director said that they have always had it off, the past counselor didn't let them know about it and didn't know it had to be on. Informed her that the hot water needed to be on. After switching it on, CCRC went through and check all classrooms to make sure the hot water was on and working, bringing them back into compliance. Per the CCF Handbook: 3.9 Food Preparation/Food Service 7. A separate handwashing station with hot running water, a minimum of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The handwashing station must include a sink with running water and drainage, soap, trash can, and disposable towels or hand-drying machines that are properly installed and maintained. A handwashing sink shall not be used for any purpose other than handwashing. Handwashing stations must include posted signs visible to child care personnel and children demonstrating proper handwashing technique. Portable sinks may not be used for dishwashing or food preparation. If a portable sink is used for handwashing in the food preparation area, hot water must be provided
