33-06 · Training Requirements
During the time of inspection, the Owner/Operator/Director advised the Licensing Specialist that there 30 employees. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored 30 of the 30 employee records. REMINDER: In-service training for 2024/2025 fiscal year must be completed before July 1, 2025. 33-6: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed 3 child care personnel did not complete the 5 hour early literacy training within 12 months of their child care industry start date. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, Child Care Facility Handbook Section 4.2.2 Pursuant to Section 402.305(2)(e)5., F.S., all child care personnel must complete a single course of training in early literacy and language development of children ages birth through five years that is a minimum of five clock hours or .5 CEUs. Early literacy training must be completed within 12 months of date of employment in the child care industry. Proof of completion may be documented on a certificate of course completion, classroom transcript, or diploma. Child care personnel must complete one of the following: A. One of the Departments online literacy courses available on the Departments website. B. One of the Departments approved literacy courses. A list of these courses can be obtained from the Departments website. (No additional courses will be approved by the Department.) C. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed that there was 6 medications that were expired on site (4 A& D ointments, Aquaphor, and Eczema Relief cream). 07-06 · Vehicle Requirements
During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed that the program's vehicle was monitored at time of inspection. The installed vehicle alarm was not in working condition in that it could not be heard from the distance of 500 feet from the vehicle. The director was given until October 21, 2024 to come into compliance with this standard. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, regarding the maintaining of the vehicle alarm. CCF Handbook, Section 2.5.4, F - F. By January 1, 2022 all vehicles used by child care facilities to transport children must be equipped with a reliable alarm system approved by the Department which prompts the driver to inspect the vehicle for children before exiting the vehicle. 1. Approved alarm systems must meet the following criteria: a. The alarm system must be armed or activated automatically when the vehicles ignition is turned on. b. The alarm system must be designed and installed so that the vehicle horn, siren or other type of audio alarm will sound if the driver/staff member does not walk to the rear or, in the case of a passenger van, the side entry point of the vehicle, to manually shut off or deactivate the alarm. c. The time delay from the time the ignition is turned off after activation of the alarm system until the alarm sounds shall be no longer than one minute. d. The alarm must be audible from the distance of 500 feet from the vehicle. e. The alarm system must be installed so that the driver must walk to the back of the vehicle to reach the deactivation mechanism. Deactivation mechanisms installed in locations that do not require the driver to walk to the back of the vehicle and view all seating areas will not be acceptable. 2. List of approved alarm manufacturers may be found on the Departments website at www.myflfamilies.com/childcare. 3. Alarms must be installed and maintained according to the manufacturers recommendations. 4. Alarm systems installed according to the manufacturers instructions prior to October 1, 2021, will be deemed to satisfy this requirement if they meet the criteria set forth in 2.5.4.F.1. above. Under this allowance, the existing alarm system must always be properly maintained in working order. Should at any time the alarm system require replacement, the new system must be selected from the Departments approved list referenced in 2.5.4 F.2. above (p. 17)

32-07 · Outdoor Equipment
During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed on the playground the mulch under the fall zones were not 6 inches in depth. The director was given until October 21, 2024, to come into compliance with this standard. Director did advise that there is a work order for mulch dated 09/25/2024 During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 3.12.D.1- Outdoor Equipment. D. Permanent or stationary playground equipment must have a fall/use zone that extends a minimum of 6 feet in all directions from the perimeter of the equipment. During the time of inspection, the Owner/Operator/Director advised the Licensing Specialist that there 37 employees. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist monitored 37 of the 37 employee records. When the Licensing Specialist was reviewing the files the Licensing Specialist seen that 4 personnels did not start their 40-hour training within the first 90 days of employment. The director was given until October 21, 2024 to come into compliance with this standard. During the inspection Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook, Section 4.1 Beginning Training Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete Departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child Child Care Facility Handbook Page | 40 care industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a Department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a Department-approved training course, beginning a Department-approved online child care training course, or by receiving results from a Department-approved competency examination. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed in the pre-k classroom the bedding were touching. The director stated that the bedding is stored in individual bags and hung from the individual hooks but for some reason in prep for nap the bedding was all on the floor and blankets were touching one another. The teachers were able to move the individual beddings to individual cots bringing this back into compliance at time of inspection. During the inspection, Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, CCF Handbook Section 3.6.1 G- Bedding Linens. G. Bedding and linens, when not in use, must be stored in a sanitary manner which prevents the spread of germs or lice from other linens. All bedding and linens must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at least once a week, and before use by another child

During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed in the pre-k classroom the toilet in the bathroom was not in good operating condition as it did not flush. At the time of inspection, licensing specialist observed and photographed the boys restroom in the 2 1/2yr.- 3 yr old classroom had water coming up from the drains and water was on the floor. At time of inspection, licensing specialist observed and photographed food not stored properly in that American cheese was open and no date on the packaging when it was opened. The kitchen staff immediately stored the open cheese in a sealed bag and the date was marked on the bag. At the time of inspection, licensing specialist observed and photographed wet paint brushes on the diaper changing area. The brushes were removed and placed in the storage area until teachers can clean the brushes in the proper area. TA Handwashing sinks can only be used for handwashing

12-02 · Technical assistance was provided and Director was advised that all child care facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards. Director stated that replacement couches will be ordered, however the torn couches were covered with the use of electrical tape until the new couches arrive Water fountain located outside on the playground was not draining properly and water was collecting due to a clog with mulch chips. A work order was placed and the water fountain was blocked off with a tarp to prevent access by the children. Gutter guard located at the bottom of the drainage gutter at the infant playground was broken. A work order was placed and the gutter guard was temporarily repaired with electrical tape to prevent injury placing the standard back into compliance
